Calista Corporation recognizes alcohol and drug abuse in the work place is an increasing concern. Calista’s alcohol and drug policy is meant to provide a safe, healthy and productive workplace for all employees, to comply with federal and state health and safety regulations, and to prevent accidents. All employees of Calista Corporation and its subsidiaries, whether temporary, contract, regular, part time or full time, are subject to this policy.

As set forth by Calista, the Calista Board of Directors and our subsidiaries have a very strict zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy. The same is true with the companies seeking a business partnership with Calista. If a person is offered a position and they test positive for either drugs or alcohol, the job offer will be withdrawn and they will not be eligible again for employment for one year. If too many potential employees are withdrawn, the entire contract could be delayed or even cancelled, preventing other qualified ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ and Descendants from employment.

Calista policy also requires a background check on all potential hires. When determining whether a candidate passes the background checks, HR looks at the conviction(s) and considers how long ago it occurred, the severity and number of the offenses, and what position the applicant would be filling. The use, possession, sale, transfer, purchase or being under the influence of intoxicating liquor, illegal drugs or other intoxicants by employees at any time on company premises or while on company business is prohibited. The illegal use of any drug, narcotic or controlled substance is prohibited. Employees must not report for duty or be on company property while under the influence of, or have in their possession while on company property, any intoxicating liquor, marijuana or illegally obtained drug, narcotic or other illegal substance. Such incidents will also be reported to the appropriate law enforcement agency. Violation of these provisions will result in termination.
